To install the hp printer first install these files with the aptitude:

aptitude -y install cups-bsd hplip xpdf-korean xpdf-japanese xpdf-chinese-traditional xpdf-chinese-simplified cups-pdf kdeprint gtklp cups-pt xpp gutenprint-docgutenprint-locales hplip-cups foo2zjs splix m2300w pxljr openprinting-ppds openprinting-ppds-extra cjet foomatic-db-gutenprint hpijs-ppds hplip-doc hplip-gui

Then run the command to see what is missing:

hp-check -r

Add the users to the lip and lipadmin groups:

usermod -a -G lp user
usermod -a -G lpadmin user

Now run the hp setup to check and install the missing plugins:

hp-setup -i

The above is interactive mode and ask some questions relating to your printer.
Or dwonload these two files and install it manually from http://www.openprinting.org :

These are two files for the HP_LaserJet_P1005 series:

1, hp_laserjet_p1005.plugin

2, hplip-3.10.6-plugin.run

Now are done and check to print the first test page.
